Women Auxiliary Pageant and Queen March at the Baptist Center, Gainesville, VA at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013

This annual festivity will feature children and youths, selected by churches to participate in this fund raising affair.

Prior to the main attraction at 3 p.m., food, prepared by the Men Auxiliary, will be served.  I was told that meal time will start at 1 p.m.  Now, don't wait until 2 p.m. and come up there asking, "Where is the food?" I mean, at that time, some might be left, then again, might not. The men have a good reputation for preparing delicious meals. 

In addition to the march, other activities are included in the planned service.. 

It was announced that everyone is invited.  The admission is free but donations will be accepted.

The Northern Virginia Baptist Association will hold its 136th Annual Session this week at the Baptist Center in Gainesville, VA.

Northern Virginia Baptist Sunday School and BTU Convention will hold its 122nd Annual session starting 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 and convening Thursday 9:30 a.m., August 1, 2013 for the two day annual session

                                                                 
Wednesday session will be a musical presentation starting at 7:00 p.m. . Singing groups and/or choirs are slated to appear.

The regular session will be on Thursday and Friday, August 1 -August 2, 2013, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Classes will be offered.

Unlike previous years, you can be a voting delegate if you pay a personal designated fee, regardless of how many members represent your Sunday School. There is no limit on the number of persons who can purchase a delegate badge and vote matters pertaining to the organization.

Lunch will be served. A cost will be posted and/or announced.

All activities will be at the Baptist Center on Glenkirk Road in Gainesville,Virginia.

You are invited to attend.

:The Men's Fellowship Ministry of the Northern Virginia Baptist Association Presented a Musical Featuring Four Outstanding Men Singing Groups

The Men's Fellowship Musical

The Men's Fellowship Ministry, a branch of  the Northern Virginia Baptist Association presented a heart warming, spirit filled musical today at the Baptist Center.The service featured four outstanding local men gospel singing groups.They were:  

The Spiritual Harmonizers of Gainesville, VA 

The Soldiers of Christ from Mt Nebo Baptist Church in Marshall, VA

The Men of Peace from Peace Baptist Church in Dunn Loring, VA

The Barbour Travelers of Clifton, VA

The congregation of approximately 110 persons was treated to a mixture of old and new songs by the singing groups.

Deacon Wallace Costner, Jr from Second Baptist, Falls Church was the MC.  He did an outstanding job.

After the Service concluded the congregation was treated to a nice sit-down meal in the dining room.

The chief cook was Deacon Buster. He has a reputation for being a person who loves to cook. His love for cooking was evident in the food that was prepared and served. It was good. Really good!!

Sister Virginia Bradby and Sister Emma Nickens, representing the Women Ministry, assisted in the food preparation.  Also, other women and men assisted. in the preparation and/or serving.

Deacon Laurence Bradby of Warner Baptist in Bailey's Crossroads, the president of the Men's Fellowship, expressed his thanks to the singing groups, helpers and congregation for their support.

At the end, I was thinking to myself, how nice it would be to have more programs and services at this nice christian facility on weekends or during the week..For a venue, so large and with so much potential, it seems like too many days go by with the sign, "No Events Scheduled this Week"  imaginatively posted on the front gate..

Northern Virginia Baptist Center Board Meeting Cancelled

The rescheduled Northern Virginia Baptist Center Board meeting that was set for Saturday, January 26,

2013 at Second Baptist in Falls Church was cancelled.  The meeting was originally scheduled for Saturday,

January 12, 2013 at the Baptist Center.

Official business will be discussed and acted on at the scheduled meeting in April 2013 at the Baptist Center in Gainesville, Virginia.

The decision to cancel the meeting was made by board members present at Second Baptist Church on Saturday, January 26, 2012.
